Indiana Jones...

Today was the opening day for the new movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with this movie. I was pretty excited to see it, as the other Indy movies were good...but this one just didn't do it for me. Pretty cheeseball if you ask me! Um hello, space aliens? What were they thinking?? Oh well, it was entertaining and I had fun hanging out with my girlfriends Carissa and Kristy (my sweet friends!). So if you're thinking about seeing this movie...don't get your hopes up too high...but go see it purely for entertainment value :)

Oh, the '909'...

So I was pretty miserable this weekend (weather wise)! We had very HOT weather out here in the '909' and it wasn't so enjoyable. I didn't mind the heat so much while living at the beach because I had the nice ocean breeze coming through my apartment...but out here in the Inland Empire, its blazing hot! My house has no breeze, no central AC, no pool, no beach....so sad!!! I have a little wall unit that was on all weekend, but you'd never know it. It didn't cool the place down at all. It had to be at least 90 degrees in my house and in the 100's outside :( I miss the beach!!!

Besides the weather, I had a good weekend. I spent some time with friends, did a little painting at mom's house, unpacked some more at my house, and had some alone time watching movies and eating goodies :)

Comfy & Cozy

So we are having some cooler weather this evening with a little rain...and its perfect for cuddling up on the couch and watching a movie. I've got my popcorn and my favorite...peanut M&Ms :) I think its going to be a good night! Movie night, here I come!!! (I hope it keeps raining!)

Happy Mom's Day!! :)

This was my first year not being able to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom. I'm glad that I was able to visit her last weekend, but it still wasn't the same not being with her today. BUT, I was able to spend this day with a very special family that I've known my whole life...the Lollis' and their mother Darlene Lemon. It was so special for them to have everyone together as Darlene's health is not doing that well. I was so thankful that I could be a part of their day and enjoy those special moments with Darlene.
To all you mother's out there...
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
And to my mom....
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!

12k - Bloomsday or Doomsday?! :)

So this weekend I flew up to Washington to visit with my family. I spent all day Friday thrift and antique shopping with mom in Ephrata and then that night mom, Ray and I drove out to Cheney to visit with Troy, Emily and Kae. Troy coaches little league and so we went to his game that night to cheer them on. Saturday we all hung out together...we drove into Spokane to pick up our race information (for Bloomsday) and then hit a few stores along the way. I found some cool stuff at Valley Village, their local thrift store! :) We had yummy burgers and dogs that Troy grilled up for us that night. Then came Sunday....race day! We headed out early morning to Spokane for the race (with 50,000 other people!). It was a little chilly before we started, but by the time the gunshot sounded, we had warmed up.
So everyone was throwing their sweatshirts up in the trees along the street - it looked cool...Then we headed out through the start line for our 12k race! Well, I wouldn't say I was racing, but it was definitely a long and tiring journey! :) I had a great time with my new step-sister Emily. Em and I stayed together and did the whole walk/run, while Ray-Ray and Troy-Boy ran the entire thing! Of course they finished WAY before us...I'm very proud of the boys! After doing the race myself, I know how difficult it is to even finish, let alone run it all! and DOOMSDAY hill was the worst! It was neverending...I can't believe they ran it! I had a hard enough time walking it! But I'm proud of all of us!Anyway, by mile 7 I was pretty much ready to be done!!! I had to take a picture with the sign though, cuz I was proud that I made it that far!! Actually we stopped and took a few pictures along the 7.5 miles we did! haha :) As we were nearing the finish line, what better way to complete the race than to run through with the song "Gonna Fly Now" from Rocky being played...got me so pumped to finish! :) Made me feel like I had just run up all those stairs that he did in that movie while he was training! heehee :) Oh, and don't you love how it says "SMILE" at the finish line! Oh yes, I was happy it was over!! :) Anyway, we had a great time, but I was pooped afterwards! I slept for most of the day after that. Not sure if I would do it again next year...ask me in a few weeks...I may forget about the pain and exhaustion! :) Well, the weekend was great! It was so nice to spend time with everyone, especially my mom! I miss seeing her all the time! Their new house looks so nice with all their stuff moved in...looks like "home" :) I'm so happy for them, and am glad that they're enjoying being married! I look forward to my next trip up to WA, hopefully it won't be too far off! Well, that's the update for now...stay tuned for more to come! :)

Miss Him....

My Dad, The Preacher Man...I miss him!! If anyone has some cool old photos of my family from back in the day, will you forward them to me?

1:00 am...

So I was up late last night doing some laundry...I had so many loads because I don't have a washer/dryer at my house yet, so I finally decided to go to my mom's empty house and take advantage of hers. Ok, so after my 5 loads of laundry I got home around midnight. I decided to watch "American Idol" I had tivo'd before bed so I could chat about it at work the next day. So by the time that was over it was about 1am. My hair was bothering, kept getting in my face all night...so annoying! So what do you do when you're tired and annoyed? - you get rid of the problem the easiest way you know how! So I now have bangs again! That's right, I chopped off the front of my hair to get it out of the way. I really should get to bed earlier from now on! :)
Here's my new do....

Reuniting With Old Friends

Last night I was able to reunite with some dear old friends, the Kochs! I have missed this family so much and am so glad I got to see them again! I have known the Koch family pretty much my entire life! When I think of the "good old days" they are there, forefront! I love them and miss them...and hope we can continue to stay in contact! Michelle and I found each other on myspace a while back - sad that it took so long to get together! But I'm glad we finally met up! Her brother David had a show that night, so I headed over there in time to see his band play. I saw Dave first, and then Michelle...and then her dad showed up! Can I just tell you how nice it is to see old friends again! It was great to see them all and catch up! I love you guys!!!
